If you’re in need of a quick, easy, fun, and incredibly delicious snack, appetizer, or meal – I’ve got you covered. These Smoked Turkey, Swiss, and Dijon Pull-Apart Sliders with Garlic Butter are a snap to throw together but pack big flavor and melted cheesy goodness. The creamy dijon spread is really the key ingredient here. The sauce soaks into the bread, tying the flavors together and adding its own punchy bite. Melty swiss cheese complements the smoky turkey and makes for an incredible cheese pull. And lastly, you can’t forget about that garlic butter. It’s the final touch that takes these sliders from yummy – to addicting. My advice? Double the recipe.

Putting these sliders together is as simple as stacking the ingredients. Because they’re pull apart, you can leave the rolls connected and simply slice them in half all at once. Then it’s time to smother on the sauce and start stacking turkey and cheese.

Two tips about the cheese – use shredded if you can, and use more than you think. Shredded cheese melts more quickly and evenly than sliced, so use that if you can. I like to use Gruyere (a type of swiss) but any good, creamy swiss will do. It’s also important to use more than you think if you want that nice cheese pull – pile it on!

To make the sliders easier to pull apart, try to fold the turkey slices so they each sit on their own slider – that way you can just separate the rolls and pull that cheese when they are finished, no slicing required.

Another tip – when the sliders are baking, be sure to place them on the lowest rack of your oven. If the rolls are too close to the heating element, the tops could easily burn. This is especially true if you are using sweet hawaiian rolls – the extra sugar makes them brown more quickly.

Making your own garlic butter from scratch is a simple step but SO rewarding. Simmering freshly minced garlic not only makes your kitchen smell fantastic, but also provides you with a garlicky butter, flecked with crisp garlic pieces, that melts into the nooks and crannies of the sliders.

Halfway through baking these sliders, smother them in your garlic butter then throw them back in the oven. The buns will toast, the cheese will melt, and the flavors will blend perfectly. All that’s left to do is serve them hot, pull them apart, and enjoy!

Cuisine American
Servings 12 sliders

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 12 hawaiian rolls
  • 12 oz. sliced smoked turkey
  • 2 cups swiss cheese, shredded (I like gruyere here)
  • 3 tbsp salted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°.
  • Stir together the dijon mustard, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and black pepper.
  • Slice the rolls in half lengthwise, removing the tops in one piece. Place the bottom half of the rolls onto a sheet pan.
Spread the dijon mixture evenly over the bottom buns.
  • Arrange the smoked turkey slices over the bottom buns, folding each piece over one bun at a time for easier pulling-apart.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the turkey, then place the top buns back on top of the sliders.
  • Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 10 minutes, on the lowest rack.
  • Meanwhile, heat the butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and dried parsley.
Cook the garlic until just barely browned, about 3 minutes.
  • After the first 10 minutes of baking, brush the garlic butter over the tops of the rolls.
Bake uncovered for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy.
